COP26: Afterthoughts and Outcomes.

Thought to be one of the most significant climate events of the last few years, COP26 has brought together world leaders, activists, and delegates from all over the world to discuss solutions and plans to manage the ever-worsening climate crisis.

We’re now at the other side of COP26. The buildup over the last few months, as well as the two-week conference in Glasgow, shone a light on the climate crisis that we now face.

COP26 was an amazing, with the lead up and the two week-long event in Glasgow building the awareness with the public at large (particularly in the UK & I) of the need for each of us to be more sustainability. There is no doubt about that.” - says Michael O’Hara, MD of DataSolutions and co-founder of Techies Go Green.

There has been significant disappointment in many quarters about the lack of commitments to take decisive climate actions at COP26 especially knowing that current emissions in 2022 are expected to exceed levels needed to limit global temperatures to 1.5 degrees centigrade.”

“However, climate change needs behaviour change and to do this we need to change people’s hearts and minds and thereby their behaviour. COP26, I believe was a big step in the right direction in terms of achieving behaviour change which will ultimately lead to a different result for sustainability. This, behaviour change is what Techies Go Green wants to achieve and with our signatories support we will hopefully make a difference.

You can see full details of all the COP26 outcomes right here on the COP26 website. But see below some key outcomes and statements that have come from COP26.

These statements and declarations are the high-level outcomes from the World Leaders Summit and presidency theme days of the two-week programme of COP26.

Climate change needs behaviour change, and to do this we need to change peoples hearts and minds and thereby their behaviour.
