EcoMerit is a Sustainable Energy Community, registered with SEAI, constitution here, and operating since 2009. We serve enterprises of all shapes and sizes.
Our mission is: to support enterprises in the optimal use of their resources, notably energy, carbon, waste and water, by providing technical support, environmental certification and access to finance.
Performance
We are proud of our track record, with 100 members of the community delivering emissions reductions of over 60% in a 10-year period (over 9% per year), verified and checked by us. This was at a time when Ireland’s emissions flatlined, and shows that we can achieve our national targets, if we apply the lessons learned from what is really a pilot exercise. In addition our members made considerable financial savings into the bargain.
Key to our members’ performance is our Environmental Certification and Support methodology. This involves each certified member making a policy commitment, conducting an assessment, agreeing an improvement plan, implementing that plan with measurement and monitoring, and regular external reviews (annual surveillance) supporting continuous improvement. This External Environmental Certification lets your stakeholders know that you are serious about your environmental and sustainability commitments and are taking meaningful action to deliver on them.
