Reducing your Carbon Footprint

Zero Carbon was set up to assist organisations reduce their carbon footprint.

This starts with an analysis of your CO2 emissions from energy consumption and other sources in order to establish a baseline carbon footprint for Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions. We identify opportunities for reducing your carbon footprint with costs, cost benefits and co benefits for each measure.

We then work with your organisation to plan a pathway to carbon neutrality, and we work with you to follow that pathway to its conclusion. The methodology is applied in compliance with international protocols e.g. The Greenhouse Gas Protocol or ISO 14064.

Energy Audits

To date Zero Carbon have carried out over 200 audits on behalf of a wide range of commercial, industrial and public sector organisations. We employ a 'System Optimisation' approach to optimise the solution for the entire energy system as opposed to focusing on individuals within the system.

Energy Audits can be carried out to ensure compliance with the legislative requirements in SI426 as our Energy Auditors are registered with SEAI.

Measurement and Verification

Measurement & Verification (M&V) is an important part of any Energy Efficiency project or Energy Management Program.

For ISO50001 compliance, companies must verify the Continuous Improvement of their Energy Performance.

Energy Efficiency projects should always be analysed post implementation to confirm that they have successfully achieved the savings they were designed to achieve.

M&V is particularly important for Energy Performance Contract where payments to the contractor depend on the savings generated by the project.

This often requires specialist M&V skills. Zero Carbon are qualified to track energy savings according to the International Performance Measurement & Verification Protocol.

Energy Efficient Design

Energy Efficient Design (EED) will save on energy costs and often also reduces capital expenditure. SEAI are currently promoting EED for buildings and processes through their Excellence in Energy Efficiency Design (EXEED) programme with grant funding of up to €1,000,000.

Zero Carbon has also been successful in applications for SEAI grants totalling over €2million.

Zero Carbon has been employed on 5 EXEED projects to date. We can help your business design better buildings and processes that use 'outside the box' thinking to drive energy and capital savings, improve corporate social responsibility and avail of SEAI grant funding.

Zero Carbon has carried out Project Design and Project Management for many clients over the past 10 years including projects involving - Lighting & Lighting Controls, Heat Pumps, Insulation, Heating and Heating Controls, Solar Panels
